Montecristo Linea 1935 Maltes

It was in Havana, in 1935, that Alonso Menendez, from a long line of merchants, founded the Montecristo brand in reference to Alexandre Dumas' hero. It seems that the torcedores particularly enjoyed having these adventures read to them while they worked. The Menendez family soon bought the Particulares factory, followed by the H.Upmann factory in 1937. Montecristo's success has never waned, the brand maintaining both tradition and modernity, with the launch of limited and relevant editions. In 2009, a range of milder, more modern cigars, called Open, was launched in Havana.

One of the highlights of the XIX Festival Habanos was undoubtedly the presentation of Montecristo's Línea 1935. Named after the year in which the brand was founded, the range is enriched by three new vitolas, which are among the brand's highest-quality Habanos.

The cigars in the 1935 line have been handcrafted with the utmost care, after selecting the most exquisite tobacco leaves from the Vuelta Abajo, the world's finest tobacco-producing region. The blend of these leaves gives the cigars a beautiful caramel color and a full, strong flavor, unlike the slightly milder Habanos de Montecristo.
