Collection: Ramon Allones

Two brothers of Galician origin, Ramon and Antonio Allones, launched this brand in 1846. It was the first to decorate its cigar boxes with vistas (illustrations, often showing the Spanish coat of arms), produced in a workshop in Havana called La Eminencia. Ramon Allones was a true innovator, turning the Habano into a symbol of luxury.

The company owned one of the finest fincas (farms) in the Vuelta Abajo region, El Corojo, located in the village of San Luis. Between 1903 and 1905, Ramon and his brother led a resistance movement—known as the Front du refus—organized by some local landowners to oppose the actions of the American Tobacco Company. However, in 1911, Ramon was forced to sell the brand to British investors, specifically the company Hunters, giving the UK exclusive global rights to its distribution.

In 1932, Ramon Allones came under the control of the Cifuentes family (owners of Partagas), though the UK retained a monopoly over the brand. For a long time, Ramon Allones cigars could only be found in England.
