Collection: Cohiba

Cohiba is the flagship brand of Havana cigars. This brand, created in 1966 for Fidel Castro himself, was at the time produced in the utmost secrecy, and is now made at the world-renowned El Laguito factory. Originally, Cohiba cigars were only found outside of Cuba as gifts offered to visiting heads of state and diplomats. Since 1982, the brand has been available on the global market.

The leaves destined for the Cohiba brand represent the "crème de la crème" of the five Vegas Finas de Primera — the best plantations from the San Juan y Martinez and San Luis regions. These two sites are located in the premier tobacco-growing area, the Vuelta Abajo. In a process unique to Havana cigars, two of the filler leaves (seco and ligero) undergo a third fermentation in barrels, which adds a certain smoothness to the tobacco’s aroma.
